Web Developer

Evermade Care is the backbone of our company providing support, hosting, maintenance, and continuous small-scale development for nearly two hundred high-profile web services and online stores. The care team focuses on proactive monitoring, quick responses, and continuous development, making sure that our customers get the full advantage of our partnership. In this role, you will get to work closely with significant Finnish and international clients.

We’re now looking for a Web Developer to join our Care team. Your daily work will consist of solving tickets using our ticketing system Freshdesk, communicating and brainstorming with our clients, helping to launch websites, developing new features, as well as working with our server infrastructure. No two days are the same in this role – you’ll get to work with a wide variety of development tasks across the full stack from frontend to backend. Previous experience of server infrastructure will help you a lot, but if you’re not there yet, willingness to learn matters the most. 

Website maintenance might sound routine, but in the Care team, we have built great automation tools to free up time for more meaningful work. As a member of the team, you’ll also have the chance to develop these tools, help us automate even more of our workflows, and take part in our internal development in areas like information security and AI. We’re looking for more than just coding skills: we hope you’re a service-minded, great communicator and a creative problem-solver with curiosity and a passion for experimenting with new technologies and improving existing ones.

The Care team is a tight-knit group that loves to solve challenges and have a good time while doing it. You’ll mostly work with tickets independently, but with the guidance of your supervisor, the expertise of your lead developer, and the support of our dedicated service manager and all the other members of the Care team, you’ll have all the backup you need to succeed. Plus, you’ll have access to our developer community of around 35 talented individuals who are always ready to lend you a hand.

Here’s what we’re looking for

• Experience in website development, with a particular focus on WordPress
• A solid understanding of PHP and a strong command of HTML, CSS, SCSS, and JavaScript. Strong familiarity with React-framework and Gutenberg are as important.
• Some knowledge of Linux, including package management (apt and Composer), experience with nginx server environment and Docker, Bash and Python
• Experience with CI/CD tools and development tools like npm, gulp, webpack and git
• A genuine team player, who can also work independently and handle customer requests proactively
• Excellent communication skills – you communicate clearly, proactively and with a positive mindset with both team members and clients, and keep them updated on progress 
• Willingness to ask for help when needed and to share your knowledge with others
• A passion for learning and professional development
• Proficiency in using AI for creative problem solving
• Fluent written and spoken English, which is the working language of the team and Evermade. Finnish skills are a bonus.

Experience with Ansible and UI/UX design will earn you some serious bonus points.
