Slush PWA

In 2018, we wanted to take the Slush event experience to a whole new level. We created an advanced Progressive Web App (PWA) that offered a seamless, native-app-like experience directly in the browser—no app store downloads required. The app allowed 20,000 visitors to customize their schedules, bookmark favorite speakers, and navigate the massive event with ease. We built the solution by combining effortless WordPress content management with a fast React and Redux frontend. Thanks to smart caching, the app worked flawlessly even offline, and we used Firebase to integrate it directly with Slush’s own matchmaking platform. The sleek, laser-inspired dark theme saved battery life and received widespread praise. The app was a massive success, gathering over a million page views and nearly 30,000 unique users.
