Memoria

Memoria is Finland’s first nationwide online funeral service, combining the solid expertise of traditional family businesses with digital ease. We were tasked with concepting and developing a completely new kind of web service that is understandable, reliable, and above all, human. We created a calm, conversational user interface that supports grieving individuals, breaking down heavy choices into easily manageable steps. The complex funeral planning process was first modeled into a clickable prototype with nearly 400 views. The final service was built using React, ensuring an extremely fast and smooth user experience. For the backend, we chose a secure WordPress setup, allowing easy management of local funeral homes’ data and pricing. The service, which received an honorable mention at the Grand One awards, has been a massive success: in its first year alone, it gathered over 1,600 users and generated more than 150 quote requests.
