The Finnish Film Foundation’s (SES) previous website was slow and structurally rigid, making it difficult for users to find essential information, especially regarding film funding. We set out to build a modern, clear, and trustworthy service by placing the needs of end-users at the core of our design. We restructured the information hierarchy and refreshed the foundation’s visual identity online. The site was built as a responsive WordPress solution using our modular Everblox tool, and it fully meets strict WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards. Because the site houses a massive amount of data and documents, we focused heavily on versatile, filterable data tables and a predictive search function that can even scan inside PDF files. The new trilingual site now intuitively serves industry professionals, grant applicants, and the media, while the foundation’s communications team can update content effortlessly without any coding skills.
